Elijah Atkins, born on September 28, 2001, in Tennessee, USA, is the son of country music artist Rodney Atkins and his first wife, Tammy Jo McDonald. As of April 2025, Elijah is 23 years old. 

Early Life and Family Background

Elijah spent his early years in Tennessee, growing up under the spotlight due to his father's musical career. His parents, Rodney and Tammy Jo, divorced in 2012 following a highly publicized incident in 2011. Rodney was arrested for allegedly attempting to smother Tammy Jo with a pillow while Elijah, then 10 years old, was present. Rodney was later cleared of the domestic assault charge. ​

Following the divorce, Elijah's father married singer Rose Falcon in 2013. Elijah has two younger half-brothers from this marriage: Ryder Falcon Atkins, born on December 14, 2017, and Scout Falcon Atkins, born on August 26, 2019. ​

Elijah has been closely associated with his father's music career from a young age. At five years old, he inspired Rodney's 2006 hit song "Watching You," which narrates the experiences of a father observing his son's mimicry of his actions.
